About e-Course on the ASAM Criteria 3rd Edition

The e-Course on the ASAM Criteria 3rd Edition is an effective adult learning solution that combines the benefits of web-based training with the content and methods of a proven onsite curriculum. It is designed to help participants make more informed and accurate level of care decisions and to write clear, concise clinical justifications to support those decisions.

The course covers the Continuum of Care, Dimension Risk Ratings, Assessment Considerations for each of ASAM's Six Dimensions, and guidance on writing clinical justifications for both Dimension Risk Ratings and Level of Care recommendations. However, a substantial portion of the course focuses on understanding the Assessment Considerations for each dimension and connecting them to the clinical information gathered through tools such as the Addiction Severity Index (ASI)—information that directly informs and influences both risk ratings and clinical decision-making.

Something about how the course is based on needs assessments administered to thousands of participants etc….

This comprehensive course offers more content, detail, and interactive exercises than traditional one- or two-day workshops can provide. It includes pre- and post-course learning assessments, downloadable support materials, and personalized written performance feedback from Dr. Thomas H. Coyne upon successful completion of the post-course measure. Participants also have the opportunity to discuss their feedback directly with Dr. Coyne.

The course is standardized, evidence-based, accessible, cost-effective, and designed to enhance learning and support the transfer of knowledge and skills into real-world clinical practice. Its design allows for a self-directed, self-paced experience that can be tailored to each learner's unique style and needs—something not achievable in traditional onsite workshops.

The course integrates evidence-based adult learning principles and instructional strategies shown to improve retention and promote application of learning in professional settings.

Subscription and Blended Learning Options
